SDLC is a step by step or standard procedure to  develop a new software. SDLC stands for    Software Development Life Cycle.

1. If they don't follow sdlc then they will never get to know how many engineers are required to developed a new software in future.
2. They will not get to know how much cost they should invest for the project.
3. There  might not be proper requirement document.
4. Their might be delay in releasing the software to customer.
